SEAN REIMER

VOCALIST/GUITAR

Sean is a true country boy at heart. He was born in the UP, MI and raised in the north woods of WI. He grew up on his dad’s back 40, driving the old ‘53 Chevy on the dirt roads, snowmobiling and hunting. Summers were spent skiing and boating on the chain O' Lakes. Sean’s first experience performing was in his role as Sid Sawyer in his 8th grade play, Tom Sawyer. In high school, he had a taste of the big screen as an extra in the movie, Mindwarp, starring Bruce Campbell. Looking back, these performances may have been the spark that lit his love for the stage. Sean has always been very social and was active in high school extra curriculars. In addition to strong academics and a success in sports, he was involved in high school band. He played trumpet in all the school bands and developed an affection for music. After college, he married his high school sweetheart, Marcia, and became a father of two. He focused on family and building his own business, until his spark for the stage reignited. In 2015, Sean became a founding member of Country Wide. Since then, he has combined his knack for business, with his country roots and his passion for music to cultivate his vision for the band. His hard work and passion has brought CW to the success it is today. Sean is a lead vocalist, rhythm guitar player, sound engineer, booking agent and more for CW. You could say, “He is a man of many cowboy and trucker hats.” Even now, you will find him pulling the band trailer to gigs in his jacked up, black pick-up truck, while cranking his favorite country and rock tunes. His musical influences stem from Eric Church, Jason Aldean, Guns and Roses, Beastie Boys and Five Finger Death Punch.

Behind the scenes

MARCIA REIMER

VOCALIST

Marcia was born into a home brimming with music and talented family members. Her earliest memories involve her parents singing in the church choir, her dad playing his guitar by the campfire and her siblings creating the perfect harmonies to all the standard country and gospel songs. It only makes sense that music became a significant part of Marcia’s life too. She was involved in bands and choirs in high school and college. As a young adult, she spent time in a country band with her sisters and in her families stage show in Northern Wisconsin. During this time, her singer/songwriter sister created an album of original music that led them to an unforgettable jaunt to Nashville, performing and recording. After college, Marcia married her high school sweetheart, Sean, and became the mother of two boys. She focused on her first love, family, and her career for a number of years. Eventually, she was drawn back to music and sang in her church praise band for a number of years. It was a delayed destiny but, after all these years, Marcia, and her husband discovered they could put their talents together! They decided to join musical forces and, now, perform together as a duet, in an acoustic trio (Moxie) and most often in Country Wide. Marcia is a lead vocalist in CW, adds strong harmony to the band and plays a mean tambourine.

DEREK BUCKLEY

VOCALS/GUITAR

Derek started playing music with his roommate at the University of Central Florida in the early 90's. And then life happened, priorities changed and he got a "real" job. But thanks to the encouragement of good friends and the support of family, music found its way back into his passions. Now, he regularly performs throughout the midwest both as a solo artist and with his band, Country Wide. In just a few short years, Derek has established a solid following performing a variety of music at public and private events.

jason phelps

lead guitar

Jason studied classical piano from age 5 through high school. As an angry young man in college, he needed an outlet for said angst and piano just wasn't cutting it. A college friend in the dorms let him try his electric guitar, and taught him a Queensryche riff. Jason was instantly hooked. He has played for a number of Madison area bands: Rock Bottom, Bad Jack, Munkypunch, 3:AM, Half Past Zero, BoB Rocks, Charm School Rejects and Pilot. He currently plays for Honeyshot on keys and guitar, and is in the lead guitar rotation for Country Wide. You will not want to miss Jason on guitar. He brings Country Wide to life with his high energy moves and top notch talent. He's truly one of the best in Madison.

Behind the scenes

JOEY VALLA

BASSIST

After receiving a KISS CD for his 11th birthday from his father, he was hooked on music. Growing up in semi-rural Oak Creek, he spent a lot of free time with friends fishing, playing sports, and hanging out at bonfires. This is how he came across listening to and loving all kinds of new music, especially country. After hearing a friend of his play his electric guitar for him in eighth grade, he quickly saved up cash at his lawn mowing job to buy his first ever guitar. During high school, he spent a lot of time playing in small garage jam bands with friends from the area. In college he played in a few serious groups, but was never able to fully commit until recently, following graduation. By day, he's an accountant, but he spends a lot of his free time still pursuing music on the side and studying music theory. Joey’s influences: Jason Aldean, Guns n’ Roses, Brantley Gilbert, Alan Jackson, Justin Moore, and Van Halen.

JACOB VANCE

LEAD GUITAR

Jacob Vance started playing guitar at twelve years old. Inspired by greats like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King and many others, Jacob began playing at local blues jams to learn from and cut his teeth with more experienced players. Under the tutelage of local guitar legend, Louka Patenaude (UW Jazz Guitar Professor), Jacob widened his horizons learning music theory and the music of Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, and Charlie Parker. With Louka, Jacob even performed in a lineup of local young guitarists as one of the "Young Lions of Jazz Guitar". After leading various local music projects Jacob went on to play throughout the state of the Wisconsin with the country/rock band, Thirsty Jones, sharing the stage with many national acts such as Chase Rice, Shenandoah, Brothers Osborne, and The Cadillac Three. Currently, Jacob leads Madison honky tonk/blues rock band, RailHopper, who have already in their brief existence shared the stage with veteran Nashville band, Flying Buffaloes, and country music legend, David Allan Coe. They have also been nominated as one of the best country/bluegrass performers of 2019 for the Madison Area Music Awards. When he's not fronting RailHopper Jacob plays with many regional bands such as Country Wide (Madison) and Adam Bartels Band (Iowa-Wisconsin border).
